google video

While waiting for the Spurs/Fulham match, I am enjoying some of the videos from Google Video. It is in beta.

What does that mean? Google Video Beta. "Beta" sorta means "in development. But do they really need to do that? It sure is generating lots of publicity because of that. Just like the Gmail. Hyping it up?

Anyhoo, if you donch noe what to search for, simply try the random video function.

learn good typography

Mark Boulton, an award winning designer from Wales, probably has the one of the most eye pleasing website I have ever seen.

Besides that, his tips on typography in his journal/blog are really worth paying a lot of attention to.

bunny kidz logo

Trying to create a portfolio of some sort by designing a logo for an online shop that sells kids' clothing. The shop, Bunnykidz, is owned by Sandie's cousin (or sister, can't recall. sorry!).

The above are just some of the ideas I have for the moment. More to come.

13 secs... now that's insane!

The world record for the silly Minesweeper game that comes along with every purchase of Microsoft Windows is 13 secs for the intermediate level. Mine? 55 secs.

quidam

Although it is missing a couple of acts from the original show, Quidam is still a fantastic surrealistic experience. Definitely the show to watch compared to the other act available in Singapore as of now.

(Disclaimer: this blogger is NOT a supporter of local acts. Bad props, bad and recycled directors and actors. Bah humbug!)

However, the production may not seem as elaborate as the previous other two Cirque de Soleil acts - Saltimbanco and Alegria - that came to SGP before. So, if you decide that you are going to watch only ONE Cirque de Soleil performance in your entire life, skip this one. Save up for Michael Buble. Awww... He is so hot!!!

the simpsons

In Season 5 episode 10, $pringfield (Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling), Springfield had already encountered the casino issue that Singapore is, now, facing.

My current Minesweeper score is 63 seconds. I like to see someone beat that!

Bwahahahahahaha! Man, I am sooo bored at work...

This kind of style is not uncommon. But to achieve it on my own is pretty satisfying.

he's a cook... and a crook. updated

In today’s front page of the Home section in the Straits Times, there is an article on the molester cum stripper that was caught recently.

This guy – the molester – is 26 years old. My age! What’s up with him? What psychological problem does he have?

First of all, he doesn’t seem to be very bad looking. In fact, from the mugshot that appeared in the paper, he looked quite alright.

I think. I have been wrong many times.

Anyway, secondly, we know he has friends. Not just male friends, female friends too. We know that because one of the victims is – or was – his friend! So he can’t be the loner, anti-social type of people.

Thirdly, he has – or had - a job. He is a cook. Not a crook.

If you strip – excuse the pun – every down to the basics, he has the exact profile as me! Same age, looks okay, has friends and has a job. I want to know what has gone wrong with him!?

(Sorry, there is no link to the abovementioned article. All the fucked up Singapore news website dun have it and I am not gonna pay the fucked up ST Interactive for anything. Maybe I will scan the article when I have the time.)

Update: This blogger has the scan of the article. Link.

the anti-click movement

This is an anti-click experimental website where its interface does not require you to mouse-click it. In fact, it will even penalize you for clicking. Very unconventional and revolutionary.

It also follows the history of The Click which happens to be the habit of clicking. The Click has influenced many tools, devices and rituals of our modern civilization.

It will feel very weird at first due to the fact that you probably have been clicking all your life; however you’ll soon get the hang of it like you get the hang of everything technology throws at you.

other blogger's blog

From Lauren Weinstein's Blog:

“The Keystone Cops -- in Charge in London?

Greetings. You no doubt remember the recent case of the innocent Brazilian shot multiple times in the head by London plainclothes police, who claim they thought he was a terrorist about to detonate a bomb in the subway. At the time, I questioned the police procedures involved, in the "DayThink" audio feature Shoot to Kill.

Everyone understands that in the wake of the London bombings, the police have a very difficult job. But now, in police documents leaked to a British television network, we learn that many of the supposed "facts" that the London police released supporting their actions were, simply put, false. The statements turn out to be so blantantly untrue that it's difficult to view them as anything other than utter incompetency combined...”

pc down... again!

My home pc is down again.

Ever since the Great Blackout of 2004, my pc has never been the same.

It slained one of my hard disk, korrupted the mind of my XP numerous times and making my life harder than it has to be.

Up to now, I still have no idea what is/are the problem(s).
