weeleongraphy: children's book

For more than a week, I been struggling to come up with any form of idea for my children's book. I have been reading Le Petit Prince, watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a variety of children's programmes as my research for it.

Meanwhile I have only approximately T minus 20 days to complete it together with a one page write up of how I attempt to market my lil' book.

Here are some concept from various sources:
1) A game book whereby you can choose your own adventure.
2) Animal book.
3) A book to educate little kids about emotions.

After looking at my own sketches...

...this project came too soon for me.

I forgot Gabby's son's Man Yue (first month)!

Yes, I am an asshole. A big one.

weeleongraphy: the little prince

I am going to read The Little Prince, again, and hope will give me an inspiration for a children's book that I am going to write and illustrate.

The book is an application for a scheme called The First-Time Writers & Illustrators Publishing Initiative developed by MDA. Unfortunately, I only have about a month to do it as the deadline is on 16 Dec. I was only alerted about this initiative earlier this week by my cousin. The initiative started at the begining of this year.

The first time I read The Little Prince it offered no meaning to me. I hope this time round I am able to see how wonderful and timeless this classic is.

Get ready for warp drive, baby! Fresh from the US Patent Office: patent number 6,960,975. It is seems to be a patent for a warp-drive.

The bloody abstract reads like it was lifted directly from a Star Trek script. But golly, I can't imagine why I think of using "quantized vortices of lattice ions projecting a gravitomagnetic field that forms a spacetime curvature anomaly."

Are the inventors crazy or has the US Patent Office gone loco. Or maybe the future is here.

ichibutt: asiaelcom company logo (update)

UPDATE: They have chosen the first logo for their company.

Good luck to them!

More logo designs I hope to add to my portfolio.

Electronic trading company wants logo.

Here is my very first brief I received:

- company name : AsiaElcom Pte Ltd
- basically the core business is trading in electrical and electronic components
- going into any form of trading regionally in the near future
- the number of colors for the logo including the name will be less than 3, preferbably not too bright
- no particular preferance in font shape or size
- the design should be fairly simple, nothing complicated
- looking at more of a corporate image, clean-cut
- as the A and E in the name will be capital, maybe you could emphasize or capitalize on that in the design
- design could be in shapes incorporated into the name

A big thanks to Sandie again.

media: super size me

Just finished Morgan Spurlock's Super Size Me. If you don't what's that about then you must be still happily consuming at Mickey D's.

Super Size Me is a documentary that chronicled Spurlock who spent 30 days on a McD's burger and fries binge. It turned him from a perfectly healthy young man to someone who has a liver of a chronic alchoholic.

He has since recovered of course. But that's after 14 months and at some point becoming a vegan.

I think watching this documentary will change many people's view about the fastfood corporations on the whole and those other f+b corporations that work in tandem with them.

So now, i must... try to... resist fastfood and coke... at all cost.

ablogodyssey: joel is a big fuck is joel!!!

The Blogster formerly known as Joel is a big fuck is my ex-campmate Joel Tan!!! Now he goes by the name of RamboTan
.
He is sort of a SGP celebrity blogster. He appeared in the papers before along with Xiaxue (aka Wendy Cheng).

I don't pretend to know him well. In fact, I probably only have a couple of very short conversations with him during NS. However, we did have a photo together then.

The thing about him was that he seems to be in the wrong platoon. He was in 120mm platoon! Everyone else looks damn fierce except him. But of course, my Signal Platoon and his platoon were the nightsoff Counterstrike gang. I kinda wish I had some photos of those malebonding times in the lan shop at Beauty World. Damn sand in my eyes. Damn you.

internet: se7en starring stuff animals

This is the second stop-motion animation spoof of the movie Se7en I have seen this year. The first was Seth Green's Robot Chicken starring the Smurf and now some internet video maker with stuff toys.

If you are as big a fan of Se7en (notice how I spelled seven with a 7 instead of v) as me, you will love any it's spoofs.
