X3 The Last Scene After Credits -- Updated

_ For those who didn't stay to finish watching the credits, there is one final scene.

Update: The muthafuckers took the video down already.

Farts: X3: The Last Stand

Psylocke (Mei Melançon, far right) is pretty cute but that's about all you gonna see of her.

_ There will be two groups of people at the end of X3: The Last Stand. One will find the show very entertaining. Another will think it as a muthafucking piece of shit that should have never been made and will be scrambling for the cure.

_ The first group consist of those people who probably never read a single panel of the Uncanny X-men. Let alone the Phoenix Saga. Thus, allowing the film makers to get away with many issues like the I-Can-Only-Be-Deadly-When-Giving-Hugs-Porcupine Man, Juggernaut portrayed as a british mutant and the mysterious disappearances of several characters from past X-men movies.

_ The second group are comic fans/geeks who, like me, cared about the characters and story. I simply could not understand how could Stan Lee and Avi Arad greenlight it. I never realised they mean it when they called it The Last Stand.

_ Roughly twenty minutes into the show, I was still like: Hey, so far so good. Then, it hit me with a shocking death scene of a very integral X-Men character. Several acts later another one. After that, I was going: How are they gonna pull that off. They didn't.

_ I can understand that they deviated from the comic because it would probably take another two more installments to fully explain the Pheonix Saga. However, I am shocked, flabbergasted to find that they decided to do a show about 1) Halle Berry's bad acting minus the boobies and 2) how to kill a good series instead.

_ At the end of the day, Brett Ratner (who is a very good action director) managed to put in entertaining scenes as well. Like, I finally got to see Ice Man in his iced form - I like the way he iced up in Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends better though. Juggernaut running through crowds and walls. Colossus throwing Wolverine into battles is intergral to the X-Men lore. The Beast's fighting scenes were nice too.

_ Oh yes. Lastly, we, finally, get to hear Juggernaut say, "I am the Juggernaut, BITCH!".

[Harry said it for me: A Review]

P.S. My cousin was telling me after the show that Marvel probably is going to a spin-off like Elektra for Daredevil. He is right. Hugh Jackman and Ian McKellan are set to reprise their roles in Wolverine and Magneto respectively. Luckily, no news of Storm: The Movie yet.

Goat Milk?

Looks like I have been drinking watered down goat's milk after all.

Gratifying ass shot.

_ This appeared on the billboard next to my bus stop yesterday.

_ I think they are looking for Singaporeans who can produce pure goat milk. I am guessing female locals who are born in the year of the goat could do just that for them. So if you fit the bill, please give them a call.

_ But, seriously, how many goats they have, man? If the demands really picked up, I hope the people at Hay Dairies don't overwork the poor goats.

Eva Mendes New Movie Trailer With Ghost Rider

_ Hot dogs! The trailer for Ghost Rider (Nicholas Cage) is out! Even though I have never read a single Ghost Rider comic in my life, I am excited as hell! No pun intended.

_ The trailer itself is awesome. I love the fact they included the sound from the Harley's engine. Check out the trailer intended for international audiences. It has got more juicy ass shots of Eva Mendes!

Opera9's Da Bomb And IE7's That Faggot Bumblebee

_ Downloaded Internet Explorer 7 beta 2 recently and tried it out. Got the multi-tabs, got RSS feeds, got that new menubar and got the search field. It is actually quite good!

_ That is of course before I downloaded Opera 9 Beta 2! Comparing Opera to IE is like comparing that faggot Bumblebee to the Awesome Optimus Prime! They are on the same side and both can transform. But, put them in a deathmatch, there is no fight. Seriously, Opera's da bomb.

_ You like violent flicks like Saw? Check this DVD called the Singapore Sling! I read the review and it seems that the protagonist was nick named Singapore Sling for reasons unknown.

_ Go to the Birthday Calculator (via Lifehacker) if you want to find out useless facts about your birthday and information like how old are you in seconds (I'm 855,481,326 seconds old). Or, if you got nothing better to do - which explains why you are reading my blog.

Fwah! She's Definitely Smarter Than Your Average Bear!

_ Gayle Goh. 17 years old but write with such confidence, feels like she's been around longer than 99 percent of the population here.

Excerpt:
The defence the PAP has always launched against the accusation that their salaries are too high is to say: "We must do so in order to prevent corruption." I have always found that to be a thin excuse. What, after all, is corruption? The use of one's position in order to profit illegally. High ministerial salaries simply permit the PAP to use their position in order to profit legally. A simple analogy: it is illegal for someone to shoplift a gold necklace from a jewelry store. But this thievery would be perfectly legal if we had no laws against shoplifting in the first place. One could profit in an arguably unethical manner without breaking any laws. Similarly, it would be illegal for the Prime Minister to siphon away $2 million a year. But as a politician in power, instead of siphoning it away, he simply ensures that he can receive $2 million a year in a perfectly transparent and above-board manner. That's what they really mean by the concept of high ministerial salaries removing the need for corruption. They don't need to be corrupt: we just hand over the money anyway.

_ San Antonio Spurs has gone down 3-4 to Dallas Mavericks in an overtime cliffhanger which ended 111-119. Alas, Spurs will not get to defend their title. :(

_ David Robinson was a wee rookie when I started supporting them. This year, I felt that they did not get adequate cover for the centre/power forward position. Nazr and Nesterovic ain't good enough and Horry is just too old.

_ Kudos to Avery Johnson and that bloody german shepherd, Dirk Nowitzki. Johnson knew the inside out of Greg Popovich's game and Finley guarding No-win-title-zki wasn't really fair game.

_ The damnest thing was that the game wasn't on cable! ESPN was showing some fuck golf tournament and StarSports was showing how Barcelona caned Ass-anal!

_ Sometimes, I just feel like cancelling my Starhub cable subscription. Only thing is I donche own the subscription.

Da Vinci Code Fart

_ When I read Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, I always have this stinking feeling that I read it somewhere else before.

_ Anyway, I have also played a game based on Holy Blood, Holy Grail that is better than the Code. That game is Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned.

_ Also, I felt I have watched the movie before too. I believe it's another show by Ron Howard called A Beautiful Mind.

Aww.. Did I give away the ending?

_ But, I must say you can't go wrong with a lead like Audrey Tautou. Not forgetting Magneto - if not for Audrey, would have stole the show, Doc Ock and Le Professional.

The Joy That Is Me And More

_ MDIS dropped a bomb on me yesterday. I was told by the course coordinator in February that I will get into the May class no problemo. She has since quitted and this new coordinator is telling me I can only commence in June.

_ Bumming can get quite fucking tiring and boring. Not to mention, it is draining the money pool. Besides, I am feeling really bad because the family is not gaining anything from me not working – I am not home enough to make them feel the joy that is me.

_ Other than that, I have been reading Animal Man and Filth – both by Grant Morrison - since last week. I realized Animal Man is a pile of dog shit - because it’s based on a DC character - and why Filth is so hard to comprehend.

_ You see, Filth’s art, rendered by Chris Weston + Gary Erskine, is brilliant and it is distracting the readers from grasping the equally brilliant story. Amazing how Morrison went from shit to gold. Recommended dosage is one chapter per day.

_ This week I bought Ex Machina: The First Hundred Days by Brian K Vaughan. Great stuff by the same guy who brought you Y: The Last Man which is being adapted to screen.

_ Over these past weeks, I have been going through an updating of what is going around in the world of the www. Looks like Web 2.0 – I coined it The Web Reloaded - is already upon us and we are going thru a cultural change because that.

_ I have almost completed the not-so-extreme makeover for my blogsite. There are still a few things to tinker before it is cool enough for The Web Reloaded. It is tough being a techie and yet so tasteful.

_ Meanwhile, I have been asked to check out Sympathy For Lady Vengeance. It just arrived today via Hollywoodclicks and is sitting on my desk.

_ The thing is I don’t dig anything Korean – minus the chicks, of course. Dae Jang Geum is one big boring, slow moving suck. But, it is an international phenomenon and I have been told good things about SFLV.

_ This week is a week of celebration. Nicole, my ex... colleague, is getting married. Groom not I. I is sad. And, it is my niece’s birthday! Have to get her presents!

_ Lastly, if time permits, feel free to check out what I digg and what I think is del.icio.us. Thank you and good night.

Digitally Painted, Not Snapped

Holy details, Batman!

_ Why take photos when you can spend eleven months painting one digitally?

_ The above image is the fruit of Bert Monroy's labour. Using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, he created this beautiful digital 40 inches by 120 inches painting of a scene in Chicago. Also, he used over 250000 paths to make all the shapes. That is like 249990 paths more than I ever used.

Mother's Day

_ Today is Mother’s Day. Happy Mother’s Day. I am sure the retailers and restaurateurs are damn happy every time this year.

Alternatives For Energy: Urine & Bacteria

_ In August 2005, a Singapore researcher, Dr Lee Ki Bang of the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, announced that a urine powered battery the size of a credit card has been invented.

_ Now, Wired News reported that "a 16-year-old american high school student has invented a new way of producing electricity by harnessing the brawny power of magnetic bacteria".

Who Gave Them The Right To Be Great?

See ma, no pirated cds!

_ Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers: Who gave them the right to be great? Who can measure how much they have shaped the music industry? How many cheap imitators have they spawned?

_ It was in 1991 when I was given the opportunity to experience the phenomenon of one of the two greatest album of the nineties - if not all time: Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Ten.

_ How many in their teens 15 years ago could claimed that they have not heard classics by these two groups? Jeremy, Alive, Black, Under The Bridge, Breaking The Girl and Give It Away were all huge teen anthems of their time.

_ I played them over and over and over. Banged my head hard to their angry, psychedelic and even funky tunes. And even now, I go back to them over and over and over again.

_ Fast forward, 15 years later, after many great albums, after so many cheap imitators, they happened to release their separate latest album in the same month and year, Pearl Jam's self-titled album and RHCP's Stadium Arcadium.

_ Like me, they have grown older through time and lessons learnt from their previous albums.

_ Pearl Jam is no longer as angry and RHCP is no longer a group of druggies. Both albums are all about the confidence and maturity of the authors knowing that they just have to do their thing and they will give the greatest pleasures to their listeners.

_ Jeff Ament, Flea, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, John Frusciante, Matt Cameron, Chad Smith, Eddie Vedder and Anthony Keidis all masters of their tools. Fighting each other in every track for the listeners' attention. I have to isolate each of them in each listen to truly appreciate their talents and hardwork.

_ So who gave them the right to be great? They did.

Some Lowdowns On Sony's PS3

_ Before you get too enthusiastic about the over-priced Playstation 3, curb it. There is an article at Blogcritic.org on how Sony lie through their teeth about some features of the console.

_ Excerpt:

...he had the audacity to claim innovation, but the controller doesn't even offer as much as Nintendo's upcoming Wii. The PS3's Dual Shock only senses tilting, not actual movement that could move a character in and out of the screen. A press release later stated the controller wouldn't feature any vibration features either, something they failed to mention...

Mission Impossible 3 Rant

Tom Cruise will personally overturn your car and set it on fire when you mess with The Church of Scientology!!

_ The feeling of watching Mission Impossible 3 was like watching the last football match of the season between two midtable teams that had left nothing to fight for: They were going through motions, no one wanted to get injured, the star players were substituted early to prevent injury, there were only one or two spectacular shots/saves and you asked yourself why were you even watching it all.

_ The action sequences seemed rushed, aimless and didn't make to feel - well, you know - impossible. The villain got killed waaay too easily. It tried to be smart movie when it should have concentrated on being a mindless blockbuster bonanza. The supporting casts were entertaining but not given enough time and space. They have got Philip Seymour Hoffman. Hello! This year's Oscar winner for Best Actor, you know.

_ Instead the whole movie revolved around "developing" the love story of main character, Ethan Hunt, and his girlfriend/wife, Julia, along with the usual betrayal storyline and ended extremely anti-climatically. The whole thing felt like it was lifted from Spider-man the movie or the director's teevee show, Alias. It worked for Spider-man doesn't mean it will work for every movie.

_ I wondered how did they managed to make the 2nd sequel when the first two films weren't fantastic to begin with.

_ Lastly, what was with the scene where the Julia tried to resuscitate Ethan Hunt? It was unnecessarily long and dramatic. Please if you go into a movie such as this and expects Tom Cruise to die, you are one messed up individual. And, if you ask me, there weren't enough of the patented pulling off of disguise scene!

_ Whatever positive reviews you may have read, they are probably paid for by the studios. I am hoping that Pirates 2 and X-Men 3 can adequately make up for this piece of shit.

flash is useless 1000000 metre away

_ Listen and listen carefully because what I am about to say to you is very important - very much like everything else that I might have said before.

_ Here it goes: When you are taking photographs of any scenery which include mountains or buildings, please do AVOID the use of your flash. Oh yes, and especially in broad daylight, you douche bags! I mean, what is the freaking point?!

_ A few days ago, while I was out wandering on the streets, three times I met with crazy tourists - I am sure Singaporeans are the same when they are touring - who didn't seem to understand that a flash from your lowly digital camera wouldn't reach a building that is 100 metres away. Most flash on cameras are only good for 10 metres at best. Please read the fucking manual.

_ It is not so much as an embarassing and useless behaviour but more of a dangerous one. Using flash on the side of the road with on coming traffic is simply not the brightest thing to do.

_ So, you know, please, use your, whachamacallit, common sense. Thank you and good night.

increasing support for other singapore parties

_ By my standard, this is a long post.

_ Although there is no shift in the Singapore government, the general support for Workers' Party and other parties seemed to be increasing by a significant margin. That is, of course, despite my hidden effort/agenda to entice people to get Glenda Han into parliament.

_ First of all, I am not revealing who I voted for. What I will say is that the major factor that will influenced me during the voting is individual rights and liberty. That may sound selfish but to me it is very important. I am the people of Singapore or am I not?

_ I am an atheist, I believe very much in freewill and I believe in respecting every other individual and their will to live as how they want it to. That is to say I feel everyone should be free to do or say anything they wish just as long they don't commit murder, rape, male rape, torture, cheat, make fun of people until they develop a complex and do stuff that are generally considered irresponsible.

_ I also believe in the rights to demand the best from the government and reserving the rights to question them because it is the will of the people that is why they are in office. Therefore, it is their sole job to provide the means and ideas relating to security - be it social or economic -, condition of living, welfare for the elderly and not making any enemies on a global level.

_ For example, even though I moved out from a HDB flat for about two years already, it is my personal opinion that upgrading of flats should not be the concern of ANY election because that should be the concern of the Government in the first place without needing it to be promised. It is not a big idea and shouldn't it be an inititive set out long long ago despite who is the incumbent of the ward? Hello, HDB? Whose money is being used for the upgrade anyway?

_ Although the OB markers are widening at an accelerated pace these days, it is wise I say no more. One of the reasons is that I don't participate in civic matters, such as this, as much as I wanted to and, therefore, do not have best picture of local politics.

_ Let's, for now, toast to another five years of joy, peace and prosperity in my beloved Singapore.

may day special: babes of the election 2006

Just because you are in politics doesn't mean you have to look like this:

Hey, I almost won a dancing contest, you know!

Problem: Sometimes the parliament highlights on teevee can get real boring.

Solution: Having babes in the parliament can up the ratings and get the people more interested local politics.

But let's forget about politics for now and remember you have a social responsibility to ensure that, until the next general election, we have enough babes in the parliament.

Let's check out some of the better looking candidates:

Dr Lily Neo

She is still a cutie despite being slightly more than half a century old. Her new makeover, which created an illusion of youth for her, should get her the votes that she deserved - if you know what I mean.

And it sure hell beats this old look:

Mdm Madeleine Ho Geok Choo

Give her a seat too. Sadly, in her golden jubilees too. Went thru a slight makeover as well. The PAP must really be feeling the heat from the young 'uns of the oppositions.

Ms Sylvia Lim Swee Lian

The chairperson and poster girl of Workers' Party. About a decade younger than the PAP candidates. Is that a plus? It up to the people of the nation to decide!

Ms Lee Wai Leng

Gets my vote for best dental health.

At the age of 26, the youngest female candidiate, she as illegal as one can get in this year's election. Just check out her gleeming white, straight teeth. She looks like a model for Colgate!

Miss Glenda Han Su May

Nice uniform. Worker's Party is really into the image thing these days.

Former owner of Ig's Heaven. She loves to travel and has gone to 24 different countries. I wonder if she likes the beaches? Quick people give her a seat too!
